Become a certified AIDA2 Freediver

The AIDA 2 Freediver course is the foundational course of the AIDA freediving certifications and covers all of the necessary skills and knowledge to begin your freediving journey.  The static and dynamic sessions in confined water are used to teach relaxation, breathing, finning and safety techniques. In the open water sessions, students will apply the skills they have learned in the pool / confined water sessions and combine them with the basic skills of open water freediving such as equalizing, duck diving, vertical swimming, body positioning, turns and use of buoyancy. In our AIDA 2 Freediver course, students will learn to how perform a static apnea of at least 2 minutes, a proper demonstration of dynamic bi fins technique, a constant weight bi-fins dive of at least 12 meters, a simulated black out rescue from at least 5 meters, and how to buddy a diver to at least 10 meters.

Free Diver Topic

As you descend into the water, the pressure around you increases. Pressure is a key concept of diving as you are subjected to it at depth. In this course, you will learn why it happens and the effects of this increasing pressure with relative to density and volume. This concept can provide you with explanation to some of the magically wonders of the sea and your body. For example, salt water vs fresh water diving and ear popping with pressure.
